Salsa Diva and Sonera, Choco Orta (born on November 28, 1959 in the Santurce district of San Juan, Puerto Rico) has been recognized as a highly accomplished female singer, percussionist, actor and dancer. As a sonera, (improvisational vocalist) this Puerto Rican sensation has a passionate and extroverted style that makes the most of her sensual, deep and emotional contra-alto voice. The performer, whose real name is Virgen Milagros Orta RodrÃguez, is considered the natural successor to Celia Cruz.
